ReturnVeterinary Nurse (Level 3) Apprenticeship - Equine
Please read and confirm the following:
You must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade A*-C (9-4) including English Language, Mathematics and a Science Subject. Alternative qualifications may be acceptable – please view the full entry requirements.
Please ensure you have read the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Disability Guidance on the Recruitment of VN Students before applying.
If you have a level 3 (or above) qualification is a similar subject you may not be able to undertake this apprenticeship; in which case you could undertake the Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing as a standalone qualification instead.
International qualifications
If you have alternative or international qualifications, and would like to know if these will allow you to undertake the diploma, please contact our administration team for advice.
You should have proof of competence in the English Language by holding either the ESOL qualification at levels C1 or C2 or IELTS at a minimum score of 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each element) where your international qualifications were not taught and assessed in English. You will also be required to have your foreign qualifications officially translated into English with a notarised stamp.
Employment requirements
You will be need to be living and working in England in an equine or mixed (small animal and equine) veterinary practice that is approved by the RCVS as a Training Practice (TP) or Auxiliary Training Practice (aTP). You must be earning at least the National Minimum Wage for Apprentices.
If you are planning on studying at our Edinburgh centre you must be living in England and must be spending at least 50% of your employment in England.
