Veterinary Care Support: Level 2 Apprenticeship (Animal Care and Welfare Assistant)

Please read and confirm the following:

There are no formal academic entry requirements but the following is required:

  • You must be living and working in England in a veterinary environment and earning at least the National Minimum Wage for Apprentices
  • Your employer must be willing to pay the apprenticeship course fee
  • You must not have already undertaken a level 2 qualification of above in a similar subject
  • You understand to complete this apprenticeship within the anticipated time frame you will need to be working for a minimum of 30 hours per week, if you are working less than 30 hours a week the length of your apprenticeship will be extended depending on your working hours

Application process

  1. Click on the course you would like to apply for, this will redirect you to the CAW Student Hub where you can create an account and start your application.
    If you wish to continue an existing application, please visit the CAW Student Hub and log back in.
  2. You can leave your application at any time and log back in to continue it at a time convenient to you.
  3. Once you have completed your application, you will take part in a pre-course discussion with a tutor so we can make sure the course you have applied for is the right one for you, and you can ask any questions you may have before starting. This is usually carried out online via Teams or phone.
